Recently I downloaded and installed VirtualDub so that I could edit and alter some videos of mine that were too dark or needed color adjustments. The program and its filters worked fine, but when I saved the finished product, it came out as a 342MB file. The original file was a 51 second, 8MB AVI video file and the edited version with VirtualDub was also 51 seconds and was still an AVI video file, but was 342MB in size; something like 40x the original size.
Anyway, I'm just wondering what I can do to fix this; I get the feeling that when a 51 second AVI file is 342MB, something is wrong. Can anyone offer any help or suggestions? Thanks!

Under 'Video' => 'Compression..', did you choose a codec (perhaps XviD), else the output will be uncompressed video.

Vdub's default output is non compressed video, you need to put it into Xvid,h.2XXX or something to amke it a a much smaller file.
