just to clear this - basic package; NTL Dublin (RTE2/UTV/BBC/Sky 1 etc) - can i use eurovox to view what i pay for even after nagravision 2>3 is implimented on them? as far as i recall whenever there was a new update or key input requirement all were lost but for the few freeview (FTA encryption), thinking this may be due to illegal software and hoping theres an official software that enables you to do this. would like to continue to use eurovox's GUI
im in cork and as far as i know,ntl or chorus are not obliged to put free to view channels on so that fta boxes can recieve them.on chorus cable you will recieve all four irish tv channels free (without breaking any laws)by inserting your cable connection in to your tv,video,dvd recorder,and tuning them in.this will not work on mmds.ntl cable should work in the same way(you may get 1 or 2 free channels with your eurovox after change over is complete.but who knows)if the basic package is free through your cable without a box it should remain so,you will have to view any paid for channels through an official ntl box.cable companies who asked people to take down their aeriels in the early eighties due to interference are obliged by law to offer at least all 4 irish channels free(excluding mmds)because these people now have no aeriels this is their only way of viewing these channels.there is no official software for eurovox or other boxes that will allow them to view payed for channels,other than official ntl boxes.
ok thanks for the info. i'm thinking i wouldn't like the NTL box GUI am that steadfast on the eurovox one - dunno how i'm gonna cope without it when the changeover comes full circle lol. will feel like i'm using an inferior TV
