I burned an SVCD movie onto a CDR disc and am trying to view it on my DVD player. The problem is that the DVD player is not SVCD compatible (even though it says it's VCD and CDR, CDRW compatible). I tried the VCD Trick and gave my SVCD a VCD header, and when I popped this disc into the DVD player, I got a distorted image of the DVD player's default homepage. I know the only other way is to convert the SVCD into a VCD (losing precious video quality). Is there another way to view my SVCD (with the picture quality left intact) onto my DVD player which does not support SVCD format? Thanks.
Well No...I would sugest getting a DVD-Burner as they are Really cheap these Days, Even cheaper than the CD-Burner I have that I got 3 years ago...You can get a NEC Dual Format 4X Burner for about $125 US and a LG 4040B Tripple Format Burner for $149 US, and with the Burner you can Burn SVCD"s and VCD"s to DVD-R...Or you can get another DVD Player, Generally speaking it seems the cheaper the Player is the More formats it will support, I got My "ElectroHome" DVD Player for $99 and it Plays everything accept of cource DivX...Cheers
It's true about the cheaper players having better compatibility, esp. with SVCD/VCDs because most of them are made in China, and SVCD is the standard. You can pick up an Apex for under $50 on sale.
