Viewsat has done it again. First to release a cardless fix for their receivers. New bin file is working with all channels opened.

I live in Canada and currently pay Shaw Cable approx $100CAN a month for cableTV and internet, which puts a huge dent in my wallet. I'm thinking of investing in a satellite set up and thus saving myself alot of money in the long run. After much consideration I've come up with the following shopping list....

    -Viewsat VS2000 Extreme receiver
    -33" Satellite Dish
-SG2100 Motor DISEq 1.2 (they claim you can catch everything in the sky by automatically moving the dish when you select the channel)
    - .bin software downloaded from internet.

Now my question is this... given the above, would I be able receive all the channels I receive now and many more, thus cancelling my cableTV and only paying for monthly internet...or am I wasting my money buying all the above and just continue to work my nuts off to give to the friendly people at Shaw as I will not be gaining anything from doing so. Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks

Here are the 2 main Viewsat forums. Both will have all information needed to get your Viewsat working including the files.

    http://www.totalfta.com.
    http://www.hashhu.com.

As long as the FTA receiver you purchase has the proper file installed, you will receiver ALL sat channels available. But keep this in mind. This last encryption change had all receivers down with very little tv for almost 3 months. I always suggest you have some sort of backup tv such as a low cost subscription to cable or basic sat programming. That way if the FTA receiver goes out you still have some tv to watch. I still sub to extended cable (about 70 channels) so while everyone was without FTA tv, I still had those channels as backup.

    Hello
    Thanks for your help.
I tried totalfta to get loader and files for viewsat 2000 platinum.
Even registered on above site but I do not have access permission.

Can you please help me to find loader, files and information about how to transfer the files to receiver. Your help appreciated.
    Regards
    Cooldad
