I installed the mod chip and the gamecube loads up to the Viper GC Extreme - Press a to continue or press B to program. When I press A when I have the real copy of the game the game starts, but when I place the backup (any backup) and do the same, it says "No disc". Anybody know what I'm doing wrong? Thanks
You have to flash a different BIOS to it before it'll play back-ups. The retail BIOS isn't meant to play back-ups. Go to the Viper Chip website and download the USB flasher utility. Then, get the newest Cobra BIOS and flash it to the Viper GC Extreme. You should be able to play back-ups if you do it right.
Hi, as you've got the chip I'd thought I'd ask whether a bios supports the rip via USB function yet, and whether you've tried it?
Hi Stir_Fry, I don't know if it's possible yet to rip a game via USB function. But now I'm curious, gonna go do some research, would be awesome if it's possible, I love being able to do that with my xbox(x3). -- Danny.
I flashed my BIOS with USB to the Cobra v1.2. It works and boots media but now I am unable to link through USB and everything locks up if I try it through the GC itself. I am aware that there are still issues with the BIOS and running it on the Viper Extreme but now because I cannot flash using USB what do I do?
I don't think the cobra 1.2 bios is meant for the viper extreme, everyone's waiting. hope they release the newer version soon to support all the capabilities they presented.
