Hi all, i was hoping that you could help me with a problem im having with my new Viper GC chip. I soldered all the wires onto the gc as per in the diagrams and im sure that there are no problems with that, but i cant check as my gamebit driver lost its shape as one of the screws was tight and it shredded the bit. I tried flashing the chip from my PC with the cobra 1.2 bios and it reported an error a few times, i turned safe mode off and tried writing it and no errors occured. so i tried it out and when i turn the cube on, there is no display and also the disk drive doesnt spin up, just the blue screen my TV displays when theres no input signal. but when i turn off the consol and switch the viper off from the programmer i get the normal gc boot display. i tried re-flashing the bios to the chip, this time in safe mode and it diddnt report any errors. yet the same thing happened when i turned the gamecube on, no display. i tried flashing an earlier bios, version 4, but the same happened again. Any ideas to why its doing this? could it be my wiring? Thanks Chris
Hi again, dont mean to be impatient but my 14 day warrenty is fast running out. i tried de-soldering each wire individually and then reconnecting after a test boot and all the solder joints are fine. is it possibly just a flashing problem, the chip now 'appears' to write fine according to the viper loader but when i click compare, i allways get errors, also if i copy the bios from the chip its a larger file than the one i load on to it??? any help greatly appreciated. thanks, Chris
