I take it that NTL we are talking about Virgin Media? I live in London, can I get a basic package and a starview box?

My friend has an NTL package and starview box in Dublin, does it work the same way over in London?

Sorry if this is ridiculously basic I just want to know if I can go ahead with this that is all?

    Thank you very much

If you have Digital in your area, then yes a st*rview b0x will work, once you have the basic package from your cable co.

Do you need a specific Virgin TV cable to plug into the box, or any old Virgin Broadband?
I've heard about using a splitter, so would that splitter go into the back of the starview box, with the broadband cable go into that as well as the TV ariel, or have I gone ridiculously wrong?
I can't find any guides on what you actually need and how you set them up.
    Thanks

Thanks very much. I was told that it would work on broadband a minute ago, but it's not coaxial I don't think. Am I screwed then?

Needs to be a coaxial & not a phone line.

I've detected a splitter on the wall, with the cable for the net coming out of one port and one spare. Will it not just work if I connect the box to the spare port in the splitter?
