VirginMedia detecting "boxes"

People I have noticed on my friends "Eurovox box" in Coventry when going to the JJB channel a message from VirginMedia something to the effect of "You have connected an illegal box, and are breaking the law.

 

This has been mentioned numerous times now, ignore it as its an old trick.

 

i did a scan today and when looking through the channels i found one with a warning page stating that the box i'm using is illegal and that i'm breaking the law etc....plus they give you a number to contact for one to one help line.

i think its just scare tactics and hope people will stop using them.

can they detect that we are watching channels or even detect the box????

Thanks for the update chaps. I had heardin the past Virginmedia can't detect what's being decoded at the far end. I thought I would put it to the forums as I had never seen the warning message before.

 

if u like the picture hold on to it if not delete it.

 

Believe it or not they have been known to actually read what we say as well, cheeky sods LOL, yep just delete it - it's so annoying.

 

Yeah, imagine that, they get paid to trawl through AD! lol!
