I've got an .mpg file, which was made from an .avi by what I don't know, and though it plays okay Virtual Dub, which I was trying to use to brighten up the picture a bit, won't process it because it says an audio frame is incomplete. An audio frame! I'm pretty sure that's what it said. How can i fix it or work with Virtual dub so's it can fix it? regards, ab
If the file otherwise plays ok, you can try demuxing it if possible. VLC allows 'Transcoding' to elementary streams using 'File' > 'Wizard'. The video is transcoded as (assuming mpeg2 source) 'mpeg2' > 'Raw' and save with a new name (including the extension). The audio as 'Uncompressed Integer' > 'wav' and saved with a new name. Once saved as raw video and wav audio, you can reload the silent video into VirtualDub and click 'Audio' > 'Audio from other file..' to see if it accepts the wav. Another possibility is to try loading the source into AviDemux to see if it accepts it.
