I've got an .mpg file, which was made from an .avi by what I don't know, and though it plays okay Virtual Dub, which I was trying to use to brighten up the picture a bit, won't process it because it says an audio frame is incomplete.

An audio frame! I'm pretty sure that's what it said.

How can i fix it or work with Virtual dub so's it can fix it?

    regards,

    ab :)

If the file otherwise plays ok, you can try demuxing it if possible.
VLC allows 'Transcoding' to elementary streams using 'File' > 'Wizard'.

The video is transcoded as (assuming mpeg2 source) 'mpeg2' > 'Raw' and save with a new name (including the extension).
The audio as 'Uncompressed Integer' > 'wav' and saved with a new name.

Once saved as raw video and wav audio, you can reload the silent video into VirtualDub and click 'Audio' > 'Audio from other file..' to see if it accepts the wav.

Another possibility is to try loading the source into AviDemux to see if it accepts it.
