Virtualdub is giving me more of a splitting headache then splitting my .avi file.

However, I read that it can't open some AVI files. THis is the message that I got as an error:

    -Couldn't locate decompressor for format 'DIVX3'(Microsoft High-Speed MPEG-4 v3 [Hack: DIVX Low-Motion])

Virtualdub requires a video for windows (VFW) compatible codec to decompress video. DirectShow codec, such as those used by windows media player, are not suitable.-

What do I do so it can read the avi file which is about 180 mb and be able to split it? Thanks...please help...I hope this is the right place to post this as I'm new...

Are you using VirtualDubMod or just basic VirtualDub?
