Hey I am trying to use virtualdub to increase the volume on one of my AVI XVID videos because the volume is incredibly soft so i used virtualdub to do it but problem is it says "No audio decompressor could be found to decompress the source audio" but it works in WMP and all just can;t do it. i installed the FFDshow as well. Please help!

    Audio is AC3 DVM

XviD is a video codec only. Got absolutly nothing to do with the volume of your audio.

VirtualDub uses ACM decoders for audio. The only ACM audio decoder that ffdshow includes is for its AVIS AVI/AVISynth parser. AC3 is decoded via dshow only. Fact is though that it would be the original DVD audio and it is the volume that it is supposed to be. Better to enable DRC, boost, etc. in your decoder than screw with the actual audio.
