Hi everybody. I was hoping someone here could guide me in the right direction. I am a newbie and managed to successfully add subtitles to an avi files(the afterdawn guide was excellent) but the output size was significantly less than the original avi. ie original file was 699mb and the output size was around 370mb. With another avi it was also 699mb but shrunk to 510mb after adding subtitles. I followed the guide to the letter but unfortunately have this problem. Can anyone help me out with a possible solution to keep the file output size roughly the same.

    Many Thanks!

One possible reason - when you selected a compressor, you may have selected a data rate (or the default rate) that was less than the source.
This source shows 1061 - the default value for the DivX codec is 780.
File size is related to running time and data rate.
