Having major trouble joining two video files together using Virtualdub. I am getting the below error every time: "cannot append segment: video streams have different data formats" I have read up on the problems that may be causing this error and have checked the two files in gspot. As far as I can see there are no differences that should cause the error I am getting. Screenshot of gspot outout for both files: http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3128/2856121034_8f603c9008_o.jpg Any suggestions on fixing this greatly appreciated, I have been on it for literally hours now! Thanks.
As long as the clips play ok and are the same resolution (which they seem to be), try Avidemux. Drag the first file to the window, then the second. Change 'Format' to 'AVI' Click the 'Save' logo and give the new file a name (including the extension) e.g. new.avi http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/video_tools/avidemux.cfm
Brilliant! Thanks attar, avidemux worked flawlessly and managed to do what many other apps could not do. I shall be using this in future. Thanks again
