I'm wondering about the virtues of downloading movies, music etc from the web. I'm aware that you can pay an amount of say $20/30 and download as many movies as you want but I'm after some advice from people who actually do it. We get dvds from the video store often and was wondering if it's worth paying to get them off the web instead. Is there really every movie you could want and can you get movies that are still out at the cinema? Is the quality diminished (from store-bought dvds)? Which is the best website (from a personal point of view), are they all as good as each other? Cheers, Vicky
Downloading movies on the internet: Well it is illegal but possible. I won't recommend either but I'll give a little info based on my opinion. Paying for movies, you can't go wrong, however the method. No trouble can come of it unless you participate in illegal sharing of those purchases. Simple enuff. As for downloading; there are many sources to aid you but it is illegal. P2P, torrents, ftp servers, etc...If you type in torrent sites in the AfterDawn search bar you'll get an army of results for sources but no links to particular files. When it comes to the quality; it varies but usually the closer a movie gains ground to reaching it's DvD release date the better the quality. The exception to that would be DvD Screeners. DvDs released to a controlled audience that somehow make it to the web. Hope that sheds a little bit of light.
