virus? google doesnt work at all in internet explorer now

this happened recently to this pc google works on opera. but on i.e. when i use it i can search for something, but every link i click doesnt go to the site it says i clicked on. whats wrong? the pc has been acting slower to now.

 

PC's or more likely/specifically your browser is infected. Using Opera download a program called HiJackThis! from a company called Trend Micro (link below), run it and post the contents of the log file it generates here. The 2nd link I have posted is for a tool called CWShredder which is the go to tool for removing all the different variants of the CoolWebSearch browser "infections". It is also distributed by Trend Micro.


On second though. Run CWShredder first and let it do its thing. Then see if Internet Explorer is working. If it is great we probably fixed your problem. Either way if after using CWShredder IE still works or doesn't work post the HijackThis log file.
