Hey Fellas, I'm obviously aware I have some form of virus or Trojan as my pc is running poorly in any online function. After a few minutes of browsing, my hard drive sounds like an F16 taking off (no, it's not a hardware issue, my PC is newer and about 70% empty memory) Any generic starting point would be gratefully accepted. I have most noteworthy adware, spyware, AV programs at my disposal, just not sure what to run and in what order. I have 65 processes running. memory says 74% under task manager. Cheers

are you sure its your hdd and not your fans making the noise.if it is your hdd i would run a health check on it with the manufacturers software.just because its newer doesnt make it infallable.im sure 2old is lurking somewhere if it turns out to be a virus.do the health check first.

If you think it might be a virus - run the following to check that out:

[IMG] Scan with Farbar Recovery Scan Tool

Please download Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and save it to your Desktop.
    • Right-click on [IMG] icon and select [IMG] Run as Administrator to start the tool.
    • When the tool opens click Yes to disclaimer.
    • Make sure that Addition option is checked.
    • Press Scan button and wait.
    • The tool will produce two logfiles on your desktop: FRST.txt and Addition.txt.
Please attach both logs to your next reply.
