Thank goodness I have a laptop to get some help. Tonight, our Dell desktop with XP developed a problem where it will not connect to the internet for anything but email. Our wireless laptop works just fine. The desktop connects by wire to the same router, and we have DSL. Any idea why, if I click on an icon to connect to the internet, nothing happens? It just seems to lock up for several minutes. The desktop works great for excel, etc. but no internet except email. I did some checking and I see DCOM erros and service control manager errors. Any ideas for a fix? Thanks. Tom
Nevermind. It seems to be working fine this morning after running a complete virus scan, registry check, etc. Thanks anyway. Tom
could of been a virus/spyware/malware/trogan ect.could of even been a wrong setting.if you do a complete scan and it fixes the problem chances are thats what the problem was.
