First, go here http://free.grisoft.com/doc/1 and download AVG and Ewido.

Then, go here http://www.safer-networking.org/en/download/ and download Spybot Search and Destroy.

    Install and update all.

Reboot in safe mode(press F8 upon boot, select "Safe Mode" from menu).

Run all three, AVG, Ewdio and Spybot.

    Restart in normal mode.

Post new HijackThis log after scans. I will then tell you what to fix using HijackThis.

First, since there are so many bad entries go here http://www.prevx.com/security.asp
and download Prevx1. Install, update and run. When items go to "jail" make sure you delete them. If an item will not allow this, don't worry.

Now, run a scan only with HijackThis, check to fix these.

*NOTE* for noted entries. If items are not found by Prevx1, search for these first. If and when you find them, attempt to delete them. Many may not allow it, don't worry if you cannot, this is just for extra security.

Post a new log after scans and fixes.

That's a good thing. Means Prevx1 got them.

Before attempting to fix these go here http://siri.geekstogo.com/SmitfraudFix.php instll and update. Run option 2 in safe mode.

These still need to be fixed using HijackThis. Make sue all other windows are closed when fixing. Do not worry if you cannot find them, SmitFraudFix rid them if they are not there.

Get RegRun Reanimator 4.6 here http://www.greatis.com/security/download.htm
Kill the process [bold]cvn0.exe[/bold] and remove cvn0.exe from Windows startup.

    Now, fix these with HijackThis.

    [bold]R3 - URLSearchHook: (no name) - ~CFBFAE00-17A6-11D0-99CB-00C04FD64497} - (no file)

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [ad8rIU3s] C:\WINDOWS\System32\cvn0.exe (may say "file missing" or may not be there at all.) [/bold]

Might want to do some "crap" cleaning. http://www.ccleaner.com

Run both Cleaner and Issue fix.

    Post new HijackThis log.

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [AlcxMonitor] ALCXMNTR.EXE is safe mate! It's for his audio. I got it on my computer too. Hell, it came with it.

Alcxmntr.exe is installed with hardware drivers for the Realtek AC97 audio device. It is considered malware by some because it surreptitiously monitor one's actions or gather data about customers, although it is not considered sinister.
    http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/startups/Alcxmntr.exe-245.html

Hewlett Packard states that you should leave the startup item alone to “avoid sound issues”.

    Entries in the hijackthis log:
    C:\WINDOWS\ALCXMNTR.EXE
    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [AlcxMonitor] ALCXMNTR.EXE

Because of remote possibility in future with “sound issues”, it is recommended that you just fix the 04 entry in hijackthis to prevent the startup of the application. It could be started manually if needed.

Never gives me problems so, I'm keeping mine. I don't advise people to fix it either. I leave it up to them.
