Virus removal on CD - Restore XP

    My Grandma gave me her old PC and asked me to fix it, well it is giving a system32 error and is jacked up horribly. She had no virus software on it at all. I cannot even get it to load 9/10 times. How can I burn Avast to a CD so that I can remove the virus.

    Or am I going about it all wrong? It's a Hp with XP on it. I want to wipe it out and install Ubuntu on it.

    What should I do?

    Why mess with it if you’re going to install Ubuntu??????

    Just download Ubuntu, install it and you’re done…
