    I think i have a malware, on my machine it's an icon the the tray icon that swithces every second, first its a cirle with a like in it then it switches to a cirlce with a question sign in it, i have done extensive cleaning using spy-bot, anti spyware smithfraud fix it etc.
    , any help will be appreciated, thank you, here is the hijackthis log below.

    Hello Haomaru,

    Go here and download SmitFraudFix.zip to your desktop.
    Extract all files to the desktop.
    * Reboot your computer in Safe Mode (before the Windows icon appears, tap the F8 key continually)
    * Double-click smitfraudfix.cmd
    * Select 2 and hit Enter to delete infect files.
    * You will be prompted: Do you want to clean the registry ? answer Y (yes) and hit Enter in order to remove the Desktop background and clean registry keys associated with the infection.
    * The tool will now check if wininet.dll is infected. You may be prompted to replace the infected file (if found): Replace infected file ? answer Y (yes) and hit Enter to restore a clean file.
    * A reboot may be needed to finish the cleaning process. The report can be found at the root of the system drive, usually at C:\rapport.txt

    Post back with the contents of rapport.txt and a new HijackThis log.

    Hmm, SmitFraudFix didn't do its job.

    Go to Add/Remove Programs and uninstall "X Password Generator".

    Then open the SmitFradFix folder.
    Open smitfraudfix.cmd.
    Run Option 1.

    Note: please do not run option 2 again unless asked to.

    Post the contents of the new C:\rapport.txt.

    X generator password is not in my add remove program list, i think i uninstalled it a bit back, but i c it in program files, and some of the content cant be deleted, these are the files in the folder

    isaddon.dll
    isamini.exe
    isamonitor.exe



    any suggestions how to delete these files when i try to delete them i get Cannot delete access is denied

    Yes, SmitFraudFix should have deleted it. Run Option 1 in normal mode and post the rapport before we try deleting manually.

    Go here and download KillBox.

    Note: print these instructions or copy to Notepad and save it, you will be in safe mode and can't access the internet.

    Restart your computer in safe mode(press F8 upon boot, select "Safe Mode" from menu and press Enter).
    Open Killbox.exe.
    Check "Standard File Kill".
    In the "Full Path of File to Delete" box, copy and paste each of the following lines below [bold]one at a time[/bold]. Then click the red button with a white X after you enter each file.
    You will be prompted to confirm, click Yes.

    C:\Program Files\X Password Generator\isaddon.dll
    C:\Program Files\X Password Generator\isamini.exe
    C:\Program Files\X Password Generator\isamonitor.exe

    Close KillBox and delete the folder:
    C:\Program Files\[bold]X Password Generator[/bold]

    Restart in noraml mode and post a new HijackThis log.

    Delete the SmitFraudFix folder on your desktop.
    Re-download it here

    Extract the files.
    Restart in safe mode and run Option 2.
    Save the rapport.
    Restart in normal mode.

    Run a scan only with HijackThis, check these(if there):

    I just typed a long list of programs for you only to accidentally close the tab and loose everything. Take two...

    Just a few last things for cleaning.

    Go here and download [bold]CCleaner[/bold].

    [bold]Note[/bold]: If you do not want Yahoo! Toolbar uncheck the option when installing.

    Close all windows.
    Open CCleaner.
    Click "Run Cleaner".

    Java is out of date.
    Go here and download [bold]Java Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 9[/bold].
    Uninstall all previous versions of JRE via Add/Remove Programs.
    Restart and install Update 9.

    Your running two anti-spyware programs. This can cause false positives. You can keep both just turn off the automatic protection of one.

    Norton Antivirus isn't the best antivirus to use. It uses alot of resources and rids very little. I'd recommend looking into changing.

    AVG Antivirus
    Avast! Antivirus

    Paid:
    NOD32 Antivirus
    Kaspersky Antivirus

    I hear Norton's firewall is good, but haven't had any experience using it so I can't critique it. Personally, I prefer Zone Alarm Free or Pro.

    Use a safer browser such as Firefox or Opera. IE is easily hijacked. Either choice look into McAfee Site Advisor. Proven effective since day 1 for me. Try it out!
