I just installed the updated version of nero, 7.2.0.3b, but when I try to Create a DVD-Video, it only gives me the option to create VCDs or SVCDs; nothing about DVDs anywhere. Can anybody explain this to me?
It doesn't appear to know you have a DVD burner. What is the situation on it, as to whether it was installed before Nero was installed or not? Have you run the info tool to see what your system shows? Maybe post the Nero History log and take your serial number out. C:\Program Files\Nero\Nero 7\Core\NeroHistory.log When you say installed "the updated" version, what is your history--did you have another version installed before, and did you run the clean tool to remove it before updating?
That version is buggy I suggest getting rid of it and downloading version 7.08.02 from here http://www.filehippo.com click on Nero 7.2.0.3 and then select 7.0.8.2 for a bug free version. You will also want to uninstall nero first and run this clean tool http://ww2.nero.com/nero7/enu/Nero7_CleanTool.htm. This will remove all traces of nero so you can have a clean install. If you had nero 6 previously then i suggest running a clean tool from the nero website as well so you don't have any problems.
I think this is what ducky88 meant Quote: Nero API version: 7.2.0.3 and 7.2.0.3b These latest versions of Nero are full of bugs, I recommend you uninstall, run this clean tool http://ww2.nero.com/nero7/enu/Nero7_CleanTool.html and then install 7.0.8.2 a more stable version from here http://www.filehippo.com/download_nero_7_premium/?845 I am pretty sure that the option you require does NOT come with the DEMO version of Nero7.
Thanks to all three of you. It was, in fact, that my dvd-drive was not recognized. Both of my disc drives disappeared from the computer during Nero's install. I restarted and things are fine now. It seems like even without a dvd-drive, I should at least have been able to create a dvd-image, stored on a hard drive. It shouldn't require a dvd-burner to let me make the image for it, you know? I wonder what they were thinking. Ducky88, I did actually upgrade from 6, and I know of all the bugs. But I don't think MY particular usage will be affected by them. Thanks for the tip though.
@LaRadio, The information about 7.2.0.3 was given to you for a reason, the reason being that this particular version of Nero, along with 7.2.0.3b is full of bugs and WILL cause burn failures. All we can do is inform, the final decision is yours however.
