    Hello,

Will be installing Vista on a few machines, would like 64bit version on at least one machine but am worried about compatibility issues. Will use that pc for general tasks such as surfing internet, downloads, burning and managaing images, zipping/raring and a little gaming.

Also I've heard bad things about sp2, should it be left alone for now?

People who have experience with Vista 64 please leave comments, thanks.

I have been using Vista 64 bit sp2 for about 7 months now. The only issue that i have had is with some games so i have a dual boot on a separate hdd xp. Other then that every thing for me works fine Itunes, office, internet, and i do alot of burning. Good luck

    Thanks for your reply.

Are 32 bit games and apps meant to work in Vista 64 in theory?

What about games like GTA San Andreas, would that work in Vista 64?

PS: Has sp2 even been out for 7 months?

I have had Vista Ultimate 64bit for about a year now, and I have not run into any compatibility issues while playing any of my games. All games should work since vista 64 is capable of running 32 bit code.

Also, sp2 is still in beta so you should just stick to sp1 for now.

I got a new laptop a couple months ago with Vista 64 bit sp1 and I haven't had TOO many problems. I like it except the compatibility stuff. I had to download a new printer driver because mine wouldn't work. And there were some older Microsoft games that I couldn't install but so far that's it for the compatibility stuff.
