Vista doesn't remember folder views.

I have searched all over the web and none of the solutions I have seen so far work. I can set all folders to have the same view but cannot get folders to have different ones. On most folders I just have files sorted by name, but on my download folders I like to have files sorted by date modified so I can just go to the recently download file, but every time I close out the folder or add a new file It just sorts them by name again. And the remember each folders view is checked in the folder options. If anyone could help me with this I would really appreciate it.
