I have vista ultimate on 2 computers. I setup a homenetwork [private].In the network and sharing center I have clicked on network discovery, file sharing and printer sharing, everything else is turned off. It shows both computers and the files that I want to share. But once I click on a file from either computer I get this message 'You might not have permission to use this network resource. Contact the administrator of this server to find out if you have access permission" Before when I had Xp on these computers I had a home network and it worked fine. I have followed everything I could find from microsoft, but have no success as there is nothing with my problems, as I can see the other computer and its shared files , I just can't access them, which is driving me nuts. It is very important that these files can be shared as the kids need them for assignments, PLEASE HELP, it is driving me nuts

have you put password as off?

are you also running in admin mode?

have you taken ownership of the folders you want to send?

I had this problem for ages and it also drove me nuts!

You need to go into the properties of the folder you want to share and under the security tab you need to enable read & execute for "EVERYBODY".

    It should work fine then.

However, sometimes doing this results in 'access denied' - and I've yet to find the solution to that.
