Ok after vista goes to * Copying files * Expanding Files ...0% Then it gives me this error: Windows cannot install required files. The file may be corrupt or missing . Make sure all files required are available and restart the installation. Error code : 0x80070017 I've read a few possible solution: change the HDD to be master and the DVD to be slave, reset the BIOS to optimal settings. How would I go about doing that on a HP: compaq nc8230 laptop. Also I can only access the computer setup screen with F10. F2 sends me to some safeguard login screen ESC,F4,F8,F9,F12 doesn't do anything Also the media is fine I been using it for ages on all my laptops. Please help!
Fixed the problem!!! I burned an image of a different DVD low speed on nero and went flawlessly, so it was probably drivers issue from the previous iso and also a media issue at least for me. A little help could've save me 2 days search.
