A question from a newbie so please bear with me. Currently running a pc with 2 scsi 80gb drives in raid 0 config using Sil 3112 sataraid controller, C drive on this config and running xp pro. Have a 3rd ide 80gb drive hooked in as well (x drive).

Went to install vista home premium on C drive, vista asks for the sataraid contoller driver to be installed, point vista to the folder where the drive is located but won't read it.

Question; can I format x drive and install vista on that, which doesn't seem a problem during the setup phase. After doing that how do I get rid of xp pro off c drive and then renaming x drive as c, which i guess is the common drive for the os.

Like I said, I am a newbie. If there is a simpler way to achieve this install then I would greatly appreciate the advice.

change the boot sequence in the bios so that the 80gig ide is the 1st boot drive not the sata drives. check the motherboard manual or user guide on how to do that.

Ok, so once I do that can I completely reformat the scsi drive and lose xp?
