I have 1 GB of RAM for my new HP Vista 32 bit system so needless to say, I need more, but how much.

I do no gaming, only surfing, ISO watching and some spreadsheets.

I read that 32 bit Vista will only recognize 3 GB, true?

True. But you would do fine with 2GB of RAM. If you wanted to go that extra mile, you could always do 3GB.

I was set of (2 2GB) just to be sure and make sure Vista does not cause me headaches until HP told me since I have Vista 32 bit, over 3gb of RAM would probably be a waste. Is this true?

Will I have issues if I just buy a 2gb kingston stick and run it with the HP 1gb stick already installed?

This is true. You shouldn't have any problems if you buy the 2gb kingston stick and run it with the HP stick already installed. Hope this helps.
