Okay, so I got a new pc with vista. However i'm not liking it at all. It looks flashy but can't use many of the programs I would like to use. So my question is this, Is there anyway I can I can delete vista, and install xp(have a cd/cdkey) without losing any data such as music, photos, videos, programs, etc??

No, the only way to do it is to move all your valuable data to another partition or external hard drive. As far as any vista programs, they won't be able to transfer to xp, and if you did they probably won't work.

Windows xp, will have to rewrite the mbr during installation to remove the vista bootloader.

You can consider doing a dual boot, but with Vista installed first it will be more complicated. That's just another option.

Make sure you have all your xp drivers for your motherboard/lan/soundcard/video card ready to go before you delete vista, that way when you install xp, you won't run into any problems.
