Hi, I just got a Gateway M1615 notebook a few months ago. it came with Windows Vista. To say the least, Vista is less than impressive. Can I revert it back to XP? if so, will I be able to get drivers for it all? I'm not entirely sure about all of this. So I guess, do I need XP drivers for the chipset?? all you need is a cd/dcd drive, hard drive, and a OS installer. you need like XP sp2 or something on a cd, and run the cd on the boot up. make a partition and install it.
make sure you go to there website and get the xp drivers before you do anything. They should have the drivers for your laptop, windows xp is still being sold and supported so that should be no problem. Anyway welcome back to xp. http://www.pro-networks.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=74987
why would you wanna do that? Like it or not vista is here to say. I know that its not a functionable as xp and it does take some getting use too. but stick with it. sooner or latter updates for xp will not be available because lord gates will want everyone to go to vista.
