I have DVD's saved to disk via DVDDecrypter. That gives me a directory full of .VOB's. I want to save them (the whole directory, the actual movie) as an AVI file for the sake of saving room Using VOBMERGE to make one big VOB and then VirtualDub to make an AVI I've had some success. I don't know if this is the best way or not but it has worked for me. But now I find a DVD with a set of VOB files that don't seem to make sense. Instead of one coherent program flow through one VOB to the next, all going in numerical order, there seems to be a jump from one thing to another, within the same VOB. Like as though the program flow goes via one VOB, then into another for a while, then back to the first and so on. Is this possible? Because it makes it impossible for me to arrange the VOBs for VOBMERGE to merge them together. I wonder if anyone has any knowledge of this phenomenon and can offer any help? regards, ab
The easiest route is to use a program such as AutoGK or FairUse Wizard Lite for converting to AVI format.
Yes, thanks for that. I see that over the years I've asked this question more than once. I've still failed to understand the program chains thing. It is time I got onto it. I've got the progs you mention. I'm forever downloading progs to do this thing. I'm doing it now - downloading AVI.NET and PGC.NET. Guess I've got all the tools, just need to get my head screwed on and uderstand what I'm trying to do: turn one single Program Chain into an AVI. Sorry for being so dumb. I'll go get to work. Thanks for trying to help. regards, ab
