So I re-authored a DVD with DVD shrink and just took the main movie file. I assume the output file was a VOB? I used TSmuxer to convert to M2TS, so I can play on my PS3. The file is 4.5GB on my PC, the same as the original VOB file. When I play it back on the PS3, it only sees 2 minutes of it. The remuxed M2TS file is 4.5Gb on the PC. Why can't the PS3 play all of it? Do I need to change a setting? Should I use another program? My ultimate goal is to rip all my movies to a format that my PS3 can play with the highest resolution possible. Help guys!!
Well I had this problem now I still have the problem of a hard drive having to be FAT32 & 4.5GB plus files can't be stored on it. But I just play VOB files. Use DVD Shrink to get rid of all the subtitles & audio tracks besides the English, ( So I don't waste discs I burn the DVD Shrink files as Images & use DAEMON Tools Lite to mount the DVD Image, so I can decrypt it.) then use DVD Decrypter to extract the VOB Files. Now since all movies are over the FAT32 limit (I think Sony sucks balls for not allowing an NTFS external hard drive to be read.) I go to settings and make DVD Decrypter not spilt the VOB files but only select 4 maximum. Decrypt them, then select the rest of the VOB files & Decrpt them. Since the movie will be 2 files I name one e.g. The Godfather - Part #01 then the next one The Godfather - Part #02, if you set your PS3 to Sequential play then they should play through without noticing that there two different files, I recommend putting the movies into separate folders so it doesn't play on forever. To tell you the truth I haven't actually played a movie yet to see if the change in files is noticeable. I'm guessing that since you use DVD Shrink you should probably know about DVD Decryter. I have read hat if you use a media server you can play files that are bigger then the FAT32 limit, but I haven't got into that, I hope I helped you out allot.
