Vob to Mpeg orr avi

    Hi,
    I need the simplest (lest amount of steps) way to convert DVD Vob files back to MPEG or even AVI files. I know that there are programs that will do this, but I was wondering is anyone who has done this might know which ones are worth trying and buying.

    Don't buy anything. There are bunch of free ones.
    Try Rejig, file mode.

    Or DVD decrypter (to rip) + DVD2AVI (to convert DVD video -> AVI and extract the audio stram you choose to a different file)..
    Alas, to convert the VOB to mpeg (http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/dvd2vcd_with_smart_dvd2avi_tmpgenc.cfm for VCD (MPEG-1), http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/dvd2svcd_with_tmpgenc.cfm for SVCD (MPEG-2)) you need TMPGenc Plus (which has MPEG-2 support) , which must be bought ... I don't know a free application that does DVD --> MPG.
