I installed vob2mpg on two XP PCs and it doesn't work on either. Get a message/pop up that says converted x files but all it does is create a file with the .mpg extension - it still won't play in a standard media player. Gspot says it's the same (.vob type) file.
Both files, the .mpg and the original .vob, play fine with Media Player Classic. I'm trying to get these to play with standard players, WMP etc. to make them easier for other people to play them. I Just don't get this program, (vob2mpg) it doesn't seem to do anything. Can someone tell me what it's actually supposed to do?
The software is either the likes of VLC or MPC which use codes integral to the program or an external mpeg decoder which WMP can access. Setting the vob2mpg question aside, if MPC could play VOB and MPEG2 files before, then it should be able to play the output from vob2mpg.
It does play with MPC but not WMP, the point is I'm trying to convert the .vob to an .mpg playable on any window system. Can anyone recommend a program that does this?
