Two sets of subs is usually a sign of two subtitle renders. In this case I guess directvobsub and something else. Disabling one would be the solution. Probably with WMP (unless you meant v6.4) is that it doesn't show/give you access to the filters in use.

I disabled wmp subtitles and it took away one of them but the good one still plays with the font codes. Vobsub.

I've been having the exact same issue.
instead of a nice clear readable set of subs I am getting :-
    <font color="#ffffff"><i>Military posts are established</i></font>
    <font color="#ffffff"><i>to exterminate the Resistance.</i></font>

And obvioousy the speed these buggers go yu can't distinguish your words and read them.
Any Experienced help here would be great.
I have tried every subtite program I coud find before making this post.
    Cheers :)

    hi tristanm7,
you can simply open the srt (subtitle) file in notepad, and manually delete this distracting coding, then save it, maintaining the srt affix ("subtitle.srt", not ".txt").
