vocal media library disappearance

    for several years I have been using VLC as my preferred media player; and it worked fine!
    Recently I updated my windows Xp to 7 and suddenly VLC says all my media folders are empty. On the other hand, WMP seems to have no problem finding the missing media files. How can I correct my edition of vlc to continue enjoying it?

    Can you not just open the files from directory? Or are you using some playlists in VLC?
