I'm using the Nero Media Player that came with Nero Ultra Edition V6. It reports it is version 1,4,0,33. I can't get the volume control to work when playing MP3 audio files. There is a volume slider in the user interface, but it seems to be disabled. Attempting to adjust the volume control by dragging drags the entire player window. Does anyone know how to enable the volume control? I need to be able to adjust the player volume without changing Windows' global volume control. Thanks!
What kind of sound card do you have, as the NMP volume slider works along with your soundcard. If you use the slider the volume of your soundcard will increase, if you decrease it your volume will go down.
I'm using a Focusrite Saffire as the audio output device. This is not the system "default" device. It connects to my audio system via SPDIF. I prefer to use that output for music rather than the computer's built in sound card and small speakers. I can adjust the volume on the Saffire control panel, but that is one more application and (big) window I have to keep on screen. I would rather have the volume control on the much smaller NMP window be functional.
