Am using the the free version and most times the conversion speed slows down throughout and takes ages. Is starts at 41 fps and slows down until the conversion has finished ending up on about 18 fps Any ideas how I can fix this?
http://download2.vso-software.fr/vsoDivxToDVD_free_setup.exe Try this one it's an older version but seems to work faster, regards
Nothing, I just leave it alone. What seems to happen is the fps slows down and then sometimes my laptop just swithces off and I when I reboot I have to activate my desktop again. I wonder if I have problem with laptop?
theres only really a couple of things that i can think of off the top of my head that could do this . 1.surfing while burning 2.time for a defrag of the hard drive. 3.you have a virus/trojan on your system 4.down near your clock how many programs are running while you encode? WHAT are your stats? Does this pc have a stand by mode running(that takes system resources)
I have up to date Norton anti-virus installed. I seem to have lots of icons by my clock. How do I know if these are running. Do I need them running, how can I tell and how can I turn them off. I am wondering if there is a problem with fan overheating? If there is a fan sound coming from my laptop, the speed is fast and doesnt close down. Then sometimes when laptop is quieter, thats when it slows down and turns off.
In some cases nortons actual can interfere with the process . Just run your mouse over the icons and they will tell you , what they are.If you right click them you will be able to turm them off. You might like to try this for me.While you arent burning at the moment can you press CRTL + ALT + DELETE. you should get some images like the ones below. Can you do a snap and post them like i have: You should be able to tell me how many processes you have running?33 is good but i've been a bit slack with 45
I will have a look but am trying to encode at the moment. Wont be able to send screenshots as I have bought my laptop into work and cant connect to the server. I will have a look and let you know. Many thanks for helping me out
No am on AD on my works PC. Encoding and leaving well alone. 2 mins to go but now only 17.2 fps x 0.57!! At least my laptop hasnt switched off yet!
thats way to many.Thats probably part of the problem as each of those processes are taking away from the 100% your pc needs to do the encoding
i'm not really that sure but if you do try to close the wrong ones the system will tell you that they cant be closed. Can you give me an idea of the ones down near the clock.Heres an image program that is pretty good. You save the image to your pc then upload it to a web hosting site(free) and then post it on AD.
Cheers, I will use that program when I get home, when I can get my laptop back online. By the clock I have: Wireless indicator Synaptics pointing device volume Local area connection DSL modem - no device Sync Manager AOL Norton Anti-Virus enabled CPU usage 100% ( am encoding at the moment) Norton Internet Security Winamp AgentEpson Stylus 46 Quicktime Sound effect And would you believe I am encoding straight after the previous one which slowed down to 17 fps.... This one is same sort of file ( Lost episode) and it is flying at 35.8 and not slowing down Weird?
i get differing FPS/encoding time, on different AVI's, i guess it's down to how much worth the encoder has to do on different avi's
I understand that there will be different speeds for different avi's, but i definitely got a problem. When my laptop slows down, when it is rebooted the same avi file will then encode at 34-35 again instead of 17 which makes me think I got something wrong, maybe its what has been posted above but need some help!
I have the same problem. I use a newsgroup DL at the same time and will use shrink as well. I have problems when I burn some disc aren't reconized(won't play) I ahve 65 processes running, will snagit close the unneccessary proccesses? Stl.ea.lth took 6 hours.
