I'm not to sure what you mean by 'small screen' hursty. I only use the free conversion tool, with it... you have aspect automatic, option 1 is force 4.3 for a square sceen, good for sub-titles, and option 2 force 16.9 good for wide screens.

Once converted I use DVDShink/Nero in various modes to back-up or re-author, and compress or just a straight burn.

The only sync problem I had was with the movie Layer Cake 7.5 secs':)
I sorted that with the trial version of DVDsanta.

Generally auto and Shrink/Nero turn out quite well.

    maybe a re-install is required?

    regards gringle.

no,there is a bug in the app' i have been told,
you cant force anything,it doesnt happen on all files i load in,just some
i can load them in nero fine, and all is well,
but vso's seems to sort out audio synch problems sometimes
the screen is a small box in the centre of the preview screen,
even when you convert a sample of it,and play it back,it stays the same

    i may try i reinstall

Best of luck Hurst, BTW I found that 'If by chance' someone had a flawed AVI CD, skips and stops etc, running it through the VSO converter made a flawless DVD. to do I this I had to open the ROM choose file option, create a desktop shortcut, and the converter would pick it up from there.
    Burnt as usual with shrink/nero.

    regards gringle

I've had no problems with vso.
I use it the same way as Gringle.
I only ever had one movie convert a bit staggered on the opening screen and it was because the fps on the avi wasn't true so vso had to drop packets and so forth, but in the end the movie was quite watchable no real defects.

    Regards Sulphate.
