Vurbal...Thought I would let you know that I have now got the concert from the home written music DVD sent to me, converted in sync to mpeg1...Whether it was my DVD Drive or the DVD itself there apparantly was a problem so I used iso buster to copy an image of the DVD to my Hard drive...and I worked from this...I discovered near the end of VTS_01_2 (of 4 vob,s) that everything went out of sync .....So it took me a few days to work out that the concert of main concern was on VTS_01_3 and 4 ..and playing on PowerDVD established both were perfectly in sync.....but do you think I could get them encoded into Mpeg1 in sync....I tryed every program I could but in the finish the answer was easy...I went a full circle going back to DGIndex..but unlike previous attempts I used the "decode ac3 track to wav"....Loaded the resultant dv2 and wav files into TMPGenc and a few hours later had a perfect Mpeg1......
I had used the audio option "Demux all tracks" previously and actually encoded the resultant ac3 file to wav with a tool utility ... then loaded the dv2 and wav into TMpgenc but it was not in sync....
I am scratching my head now and wondering why I never used the "decode ac3 track to wav" first.....
However I have learnt a lesson ...What surprised me was the failure of various DVD rippers to handle the vob files that were on my hard drive...HH.

Sounds like you've got it. I should have thought of that option myself

Yes the concerts are now in Meg1, edited and perfectly in Sync ...or perhaps not perfectly as I think they are a m/s out but at least what the fingers are doing on the guitar equate to the audio ...The DVD being not a commercial one but home written ...apparantly had things on it / in it that programs I have used in the past just did not like..Imtoo DVD ripper and Xilisoft would not touch either the DVD or the VOBs from it??..It really confused me the way the audio was going out of sync so I have a lot to learn...each different method I used gave me a different result so now to clean everything off my hard drive from all my experimenting......One aspect I was wanting to know during this was the length of the Ac3 file .....I could not find a utility that would give me this ? Anyway Once again Thanks for your Help and DGindex....HH
