I read the thread at the top and did everything it said....kinda. I am a simple teenager and i don't have a credit card or the money to subscribe to the full edition of spy sweeper. I followed the rest of the steps however and some of my problems went away. For instance whenever i loaded IE it didn't redirect me to a page that said i am infected and bla bla bla. However i am no longer able to change my homepage to what i want it to be. It remians at msn.com even when i try to change it. Also when i run the spy sweeper scan anyways just to see what comes up, the "trojan-downloader-zlob" still remains so obviously i didn't remove all of it. Is there a free spyware program than will remove this for me? Anything you need me to do,to help you help me better just ask and i'll do my best

Let's see if you still have Myzor or anything else. Go here http://www.hijack-this.org and download HijackThis. Extract the file to a location of your choice. Run a scan and save a log file. Post the log file here.

Seems I'm gonna have to change the link. If you read the edit it says you can replace SpySweeper with another anitspyware such as Ewdio: get it here. http://free.grisoft.com/doc/1

Your clean of Myzor. But you need to rid this.

Run a scan only with HijackThis, check to fix these.

That's not zlob so, did Ewdio rid zlob?

I did a full scan with ewido but it didn't find the zlob. That only seems to come up when I use the spy sweeper scan.

Did you run Ewido in safe mode.(press F8 upon boot, select "Safe Mode" from menu)

If that doesn't help, try this since you have already tried SmitFraudFix:

Download SmitRem.exe and save the file to the Desktop.
    http://noahdfear.geekstogo.com/click counter/click.php?id=1
Double click on the file to extract it to it's own folder on the Desktop.

    Now, reboot to Safe Mode:

    Open the SmitRem folder
Double click the "RunThis.bat" file to start the tool.
    Follow the prompts on screen.
Wait for the tool to complete and Disk Cleanup to finish.
    Restart your computer.

Alright, i've done everything you said yet the scan still shows the zlob being there. Would me being unable to change my homepage be an effect of this zlob? thanks for all your help so far

the trial of Spysweeper removes things also
    Try this
uninstall what ever version of spysweeper you have

Go to the link below and download the trial version of SpySweeper:

    SpySweeper http://www.webroot.com/consumer/prod...rc=4129&ac=tsg

    * Click the Free Trial link under "SpySweeper" to download the program.
    * Install it. Once the program is installed, it will open.
    * It will prompt you to update to the latest definitions, click Yes.
    * Once the definitions are installed, click Options on the left side.
    * Click the Sweep Options tab.
    * Under What to Sweep please put a check next to the following:
    o Sweep Memory
    o Sweep Registry
    o Sweep Cookies
    o Sweep All User Accounts
    o Enable Direct Disk Sweeping
o Sweep Contents of Compressed Files
    o Sweep for Rootkits

o Please UNCHECK Do not Sweep System Restore Folder.

    * Click Sweep Now on the left side.
    * Click the Start button.
    * When it's done scanning, click the Next button.
    * Make sure everything has a check next to it, then click the Next button.
    * It will remove all of the items found.
    * Click Session Log in the upper right corner, copy everything in that window.
    * Click the Summary tab and click Finish.
    * Paste the contents of the session log you copied into your next reply.
Also post a new Hijack This log.

If you have trouble with spysweeper
post the report from the ewido log.

When i click the link it says: Our Apologies…
The page you tried was not found. The URL or link may be outdated or incorrect. Please try again, or you might find what you are looking for here:

Underneath it has a picture of spysweeper. it also has pitures of 3 other products. However all 3 of those have free trial buttons, the spysweeper one just has "free spy scan" You still want me to download this?

The zlob was removed according to the SW log. To make sure do this so.

Please go HERE http://www.pandasoftware.com/products/activescan.htm to run Panda's ActiveScan

    * Once you are on the Panda site click the Scan your PC button
    * A new window will open...click the Check Now button
    * Enter your Country
    * Enter your State/Province
    * Enter your e-mail address and click send
    * Select either Home User or Company
    * Click the big Scan Now button
    * If it wants to install an ActiveX component allow it
    * It will start downloading the files it requires for the scan (Note: It may take a couple of minutes)
    * When download is complete, click on My Computer to start the scan
    * When the scan completes, if anything malicious is detected, click the See Report button, then Save Report and save it to a convenient location. Post the contents of the ActiveScan report

Come back here and post a new HijackThis log along with the logs from the Panda scans.

Yeah here's the stuff u asked for. i think i've gotten rid of all/most of the malicous stuff on my computer. Not sure why i cant change the home page though. Norton always comes up and says are you sure u want to change ur home page to .... and i click yes or w/e but it still never changes. And yes i have gotten it to work when i first got the computer some few weeks ago. hmm but the results show nothing is really wrong.
