w850i Removing Vodafone UK from the top of the screen-can it be done?

Last phone let me switch it off - but I can't find an option that allows this - so annoying if it can't be done - they go to the trouble of making a really crisp screen and then render the top portion useless by slapping the provider name across in big black letters.

Would also be useful if you could move the clock to bottom left and change the colour so it is easier to see depending on what picture you are using - turned into two questions - whoops.

Sod it - I may as well ask another as open another thread.

Has anyone got the software update to work, or, like me do you just get a Macromedia Flash error? I uninstalled Flash - re-installed it via IE - still errors on me. Uninstalled all the Sony stuff and re-installed it - same error. Seems to be a common issue with no solution as I can find.

Any help most appreciated.
