I would really apreciate if someone could walk me through in detail the steps required to mod after installing UnleashX. Somethings I really need to know how to do are: FTP, getting a connection from the computer to the xbox, copying backup games to harddrive. Thanks
I made this checklist for myself, but its for Xecuter 3CE, it will probably be the same though: 1.Acquire and correctly install Xecuter 3CE modchip. 2.Acquire and correctly install new hard drive fore the X-Box. 3.Acquire and correctly install any other items, e.g. fans and X3 Control Panel. 4.Using either X3 external Switch or X3 Pro Switch, set it to 1MB bank mode (1024K). 5.Download FlashFXP, and Qwix or Craxtion depending on dashboard. 6.Establish a connection between X-Box and computer. 7.Download mIRC. 8.Download the latest Xecuter BIOS from XBins. 9.Unrar the BIOS using WinRAR. 10.Turn off Flash Protection. 11.Flash the BIOS via HTTP. 12.Download AutoInstaller V3.0 and burn it to a CD/DVD. 13.Boot up the AutoInstaller onto the X-Box and download a dashboard and any applications, e.g. X-Box Media Player, DVD2XBOX.
i sort of know how 2 mod, im just starting and stuff and i hardly no nething bout it at all and i got q's of mi own but, i might b abl 2 help a lil do you have an inhome network? is your xbox hooked up 2 it and also a computer(obvously)u need an ftp program there are many out there im guessing but the 1 i use is filezilla. if u get that i can help u the most otherwise i might hav some small probs with the program, its still easy 2 do 1ce u got into the xbox with the ftp program. if u use filezilla then in your normal xbox dash, go to the settings then network settings. then make shure your ip address is set to aute (so the router can recognise it and it caninterface) and also the DNS is set 2 automatic, if u just set it 2 automatic then it will hav some 0's so go bak 2 the main ms dash then bak 2 the ip, put thi ip in the quick connect (thats wat the bar is on filezilla i think. type your xboxes ip into the "ip" bar and for the user put "xbox" and for the pass u put "xbox" then for the port just do the standard port wich is port 21. after u do that hit connect and tell me what it does. if you see a bunch of disk drives come up in a "remote site" box then uve connected. if it didnt then u need 2 do it again and make shure u typed stuff right and chek ur connections. once ur comfterble with that just post back here or sumpin and ill tell u wat 2 do next.
OK... I networked using FTP but apparently I somehow deleted my original MS dash and I have no backups... Is there anyway I can reinstall MS Dash without messing up my softmod? I know this probably should be in a new thread...
