Had a tough time with this one What does not work 1) dvd shrink ( fails on analysis) 2) dvd decrypter 3540 (fails on decrypting, about 20 %) 3) dvd fab plat 5110 ( read failure at about 4 %) 4) ripit4me 1710( says file size is 65 Gb, too large to back up, and backed up 65 GB on my HDD) 5) Anydvd 6479 ( fails to read at 97 %) 6) No, I do not have dvdxcopy any longer What works partially (ripped full disc with non functioning menu, just got a list of files) 1) Anydvd 6483 beta What worked !! (Success !!!) dvdfabHD 4120 ( yep, the oldie but goody), full disc and functioning menu ! No I did not do movie only, as I always do full disc, and get menu plus movie via vob blanker I have the 1 disc dvd in the new chinzy paper box !
*rubs hands together* Hehe...a challenge. I'm looking forwared to picking this one up next week. I see Mr. Endo is servicing the movie-store-ladies again.
Brace yourselves, brave DVD Shrink regulars, i sense a disturbance in the force ..well in this forum anywho, it sounds like we'll be swamped with Wall-E threads soon then.. Cheers for the info, hopefully DVDFab will be updated by the time this (awesome) movie appears in the UK. But i keep all the updates so i have 4.1.2.0 ready and waiting just in case.
Strange as how 4120 is able to process the movie, where as the newer versions get stuck. Also, which disk version was the one you had. I have the 3-disk version enroute to me. So far, I have seen the disk's that have the digital copies on them seem to have less protection than the ones that don't.
Send the failures to Fengtao as well if you don't mind. Might as well get the big two working on an update for this one.
@Creaky, one of two options available for the onslaught of Wall-E threads, One Sticky a guide how to back it up, or start a betting pool on how many threads are started about Wall-E. My guess, 241 threads by Dec 01. Any other takers? Or are you'all still scarred from Spanglish?
There are a couple of bugs with the latest version of DVDFab. There should be an update soon. Edit: Well an update came faster than I thought. Not sure if it will work with this movie. http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/17/583712#4366511
so, Wall-E is causing problems, I wonder how many threads will get going on this one since that search button is so hard to locate... What was the last one that gave large problems? I'm thinking one of the Saw3 movies? Saw 3 possibly?
Google is your friend. http://www.globalshareware.com/freeware/DVDFab-HD-Decrypter-4120-Download.html
Help, I a mac user trying to do this for the first time on P.C. I have downloaded DVDFab HD Decrypter 4.1.2.0 Do I rip a movie only or do I a full disk rip. I would prefer to do a movie only rip. Do i need to fix any blank or dummy cels with vob blanker Or do I just use something like dvdshrink then burn On the mac their is only a few choices for ripping, compressing and burning I found hundreds of guides on how to make backups of my DVD'S for the P.C. I'm just more interested in this Wall-E title. as it seems pretty picky as to what software works with it. Thanks
I bought Wall-E today and used DVD FAB HD Decrypter 5.0.8.5, then Vob Blanker and finally DVD Shrink. Perfect with all the previews and extras and movie crystal clear - no problems at all. Oh, and my source is a mom & pop operation that will sell to me ahead of release date just because of the overwhelming competition. Not sure if they sell to anybody but they know me pretty well. You have to network people.
Ditto...that's how it's worked for me around here...(Northern New Jersey MOM & POP). You will find similar trouble with "FRED CLAUS" & NARNIA II(I can't recall the official title at the moment). These titles one of which is a disney flick all have similar new tough encryption. I backed them all up with DVDFAB & then further decrypted them in RIPIT4ME...to get the titles to begin from the title menu. You'll notice that these new movies are more commonly found to transfer the titles encryption to back up files or duplicate spare. This makes for a process to arrive at a fully functional decrypted back-up. I'm up for the challenge though....
