1. Right click the Desktop and select New /Shortcut 2. A screen will appear asking you for a Command Line. Here's what you put in that box: For Shutdown: Shutdown -s -t 0 For Restart: Shutdown -r -t 0 For Log Off: Shutdown -l -t 0 After you've decided which of the above options to use, click the Next button and give the shortcut an appropriate name. Then you can give them appropriate icons by right clicking your new icon and selecting Properties and Change Icon... Have fun
YEAH!! your way off topic -Akazecks-....BAN HIM!!! just kidding And -scoop-....Don't make me start the "Anti -djscoop-" thread...cause I'll do it.... Just figured I'd bump this since it'll be lost in a day.
Lazyniss and knowledg of doing it. For me Im running dual monitors and I decided to run monitor 2 as my primary monitor, and as you know (or maybe not) monitor 2 does not have the start button so I decided to add the sutdown and resart to the desktop. To me its mor convinent.
My advice is to use the Start Menu item for selecting shutdown. This procedure, while the way you have it set is ok, if this Executable is used improperly can be quite dangerous for someone who doesn't know what they are doing. For example, you get a n00b who doesn't understand what it is or does, could inadvertantly set the timer for Zero and drop it in their Startup menu block, which would be very nasty. Your Comp would be boot then immediately shutdown upon processing the startup menu. Even in Safe Mode it would execute it. Just be careful when using stuff like this and make sure you understand how it works.
@-Weirdo007- This is the most easist thing to do...even for n00bs so don't confuse it. All this is is a shortcut nothing more. You would have to drag and drop this or manually configure it to to your startup menu. @-Auslander- let me check and test
this is cool, but why in a hurry,in front of me is the windows of the world...why rush??? cool idea though....
sorry -Auslander-...no command for Hibernation but if I find one you'll be the first to know my good friend.
