dell is dell is dell. thats about it. dont get me wrong i have a few myself, but i would go with a custom build for gaming and any other hard core apps. out of all of my pcs (i have 5.. 2 dell 2 compaq and 1 custom built) the custom is pretty much the only one i use anymore. i let the kids use the others. when u build it yourself u know what youve got. the others can be very proprietary.

yeah better custom made then dell for gaming i bought a dell dimension 5150 it also said it was for games and i had to change everything but the hard drive and motherboard and case to get it to run high end games and another bad thing that happendto me that day when i took to upgrade it the guy said he'll put the ram hardrive cpu in for free so yeah i went for it and he said he lost my old ram cpu and the radeon 9600pro soo i had to buy 2gb of ram instead of one and i think that all i did was buy my own 1gb back that he stole so build it your self or a guy that oyu trust ive found one and he has never ripped me off like the lastr guy, dell and hp compaq etc all scam you by saying there good for games etc but there not most dell's now use intergrated graphcs everyhting intergrated and 256mb ram for 999au thats a rip off

Yes buy that laptop that He Man pointed out... if it doesn't run WoW I'll paypal you $50.

The Sony VAIO, in my opinion, is one of the best laptops you can get.

And... He Man, have you actually bought yours yet or are you still waiting on it?... I think you asked about a new lappy not more than a month ago...

Estuansis, thanks for your kind words on that sony.im having words with my dad tonight(my mum is fine with it) and hopefully will have it ordered by tommorow.ill get wow and see if it runs it.

edit - the graphics card is top of the range.the only thing that beats it is the nvidia geforce go 7600 gt 256mb in the £2000 sony vaio with blu ray drive.just imagine that sony with 2gb ram.......

Unless you want all the neat lights and crap that come with the XPS, you can get a regular, custom-built Dell with the same gaming power and specs with the same screen size for hundreds of dollars less.

Yeah, the 7900GTX is not good at all. It's freaking awesome! Currently the best there is right below the competing ATi Radeon X1900XTX. Top notch but I'd avoid Dell and get something comparitively priced and much better made from Alienware, Voodoo PC, Widow PC, Falcon NW... anything but Dell.

And any skeptics with Dell owning Alienware... Dell only merged with Alienware so Alienware could have global shipping. It's still the same top notch quality you have come to expect.
