im thinking of upgrading my computer.was thinking upgrading the ram from 4GBs to 12Gbs would speed it up but my brother told me upgrading the harddrive and graphics card would be a better option.my graphics card is a HD4550 and apparently should run every game on the market.the harddrive is a western digital WD5000 AADS with 32mb cache and speed of 7200RMps.the ram is 2 x 2Gbs DDR2 PC6400.any advice as to whats the best upgrade to improve general day to day stuff. Also i cant go out and spend hundreds on computer upgrades.

edit: dont want to over clock as ive done that once in the past and overheated the system and damaged some parts lucky it was an old computer.

i would leave the video card (unless you have problems playing games)...
personally i would get new ram.. pc 1600 etc
and maybe a solid state hard drive... read and write times will be improved majorly

most likely won't see much performance increase if increase ram to 8 or 12gigs. also most programs might not be wriiten to access that ram increase.
