I have already built my compter, but missing a few upgrades coz i ran out of money, right now i have an intel E6300 2.80 dual core with 4 gb ram, im running 64 bit xp pro, a 80gb hdd, a pioneer dual layer burner/blueray player, and its got a nvidia geforce 8500 gt with 512 ram, will my pc run games better than my 360, in grapchics and loading times, its a dvi-hdmi connection to my 66cm lcd
The 360 will probably be better for most games. Even when a PC is technically faster than a console, the console has the unfair advantage of a light-weight, efficient operating system and hardware that is designed just for gaming.
Sadly killer bug is right, the 360 i a better choice cost/game wise, the PC is not bad and I love my PC but fck it the games are mostly port me downs..... get a acouple pad options for the 360 like a frag mouse and PS3 to 360 converter, worth the 200 bucks to aim with a mouse on the FPS centric console.
The 8500GT is a very poor graphics card, thus the Xbox 360 is currently better for playing games. The CPU is plenty fast enough, however, so all you need is a more powerful graphics card. As for loading times, in some areas the PC better, others worse, that will always vary. Due to the way Xbox 360 games are coded, and the power of the 360's graphics processor, the 360 is about twice as powerful graphically as your PC. However, even a $160 is a whopping 15 times as powerful as the 8500GT, which would place your PC far superior to the Xbox.
