I am trying to edit my dvd backup files that I used DVD Shrink to backup. I want to only burn the Main Menu files and the Main Movie files. If I try to Re-Author it tells me that the Main Menu files will retain functionality. Any suggestions? I am using Nero 6 to burn.
I have no helpfull advise but I'm interested to see if this can be done. I like the idea, I mean, who needs all those FBI warnings (ha,ha).
if you only want the main movie, you don't need the menu.just reauthor the main movie, select correct language and away you go!
You can do this by using a little application called "DVDstripper". You will also need to download "dvd decrypter" & "ifoedit".(a quick search on google will find these apps) Dvd decrytper & ifoedit are used by DVDstripper automatically, therefore no knowledge of these apps are required. Once the DVD has been ripped by dvd decrypter (via DVDstripper) it is a cinch to either "keep" or "remove" the files that you want. The main movie is very easily identified. DVDstripper also gives you the option to remove "menu" items, but its best not to remove these items unless you full appreciate how the menu structure works. DVDstripper will then process the movie, removing the items that you have chosen. This new output file can now be easily loaded into DVDshrink, dvd2one or Pinnacle etc for transcoding. DVDstripper will not be able to "strip" your already ripped disk (that you did with dvdshrink). It needs to do this with dvddecrypter. I know this lot may seem a mouthful, but hey give it a try, its not that too hard. DVDstripper is pretty easy to set up, and once youve set it up it can then run "unmolested" for future projects.
if you use dvd shrink. You can rip dvd, re-author main title and correct language. I select 5.1 english only.Back up to hard drive and then burn disc.pretty simple. when I play copied disc, it starts at beginng without any warnings.i've backed up quite a few disc's this way, when I don't need any extra's.
Interesting...Can this DVDshrink program reauthor any .vob file? Say, one that I already have on the HD and is way too big to put on one DVD?
I believe the answer is yes.get a couple of dvd-rw discs and experiment.Just think of it as a science project!
Another way you can get just the menu and the movie is by using AnyDVD program along with CloneDVD i recommend both of these. Anydvd will remove the copy protection by running in the background and CloneDvd will use to rip excatly what u want from the movie they r not free but i have found many cracks out there! i do mean many!! lol
Gentlemen, Actually you don't have to live with them, they can be removed easily, it just sounds complicated - Not mentioned and I wondered why, You can use Nero's recode 2, get rid of what you want and keep your menus ) No need to run through IFOEdit - recode keeps them, untouched Pete
scubapete I dont think recode totally eliminates unwanted title sets does it?. Doesnt it replace it with a custome picture or something?... using Ifoedit through dvdstripper is easy...
Scuba Pete, please help? I have posted a thread, "DVD copy for dummies" the dummy is me, can you help?
I am so glad that I have such helpful "friends"...I really appreciate all of the time that many of you put into helping others with their problems. Thanks for all of the help!! I'll try some of the mentioned projects and see what happens.
