Hey. Today I decided to see what all this gosh-darned hoo-ha was about WoW, and bought it. Amazing, wonderful, fantastic. But then I saw Warcraft 3 plus the expansion for a VERY cheap price so I bought that too. Wonderful. Fantastic. Except...

...The CD key on the booklet was, in fact, a Diablo 2 CD. I know this because it says "Diablo 2 CD key" next to it, and also I HAVE Diablo 2 and the CD key on my D2 booklet is very similar. I looked at the Frozen Throne CD key and it was the regular Frozen Throne CD key.
    Bear with me.
So I tried to get in contact with Blizzard UK (I'm a Brit) and I can't get hold of them in either the website or over the phone.
My question is: Is there any way I can find out my CD key? I'm running on a Powerbook G4 under Leopard, and I don't know what else to try. I "discovered" a CD key on the net that I know would work, but I don't want to try it as I want to play on Battlenet. and I hate the idea of having to do that when I paid for the damn game - it would feel like I'm doing something wrong when I haven't.
Eternal gratitude shall be aimed at those who help me solve this...

Another quick note: I'm not sure if I can post pics, but I'm going to take a photo of my Warcraft 3 booklet, and my Diablo 2 booklet, for verification if I have to send them to Blizzard or whatever, but I can post it here if you guys need some sort of confirmation that I'm not screwing around.

That's why it was cheap.. somebody got some stickers mixed up ;)

Your cd key doesn't really mean anything. The number on the booklet will just be a number that tells the algorythm in the game code what numbers are right and wrong.. they usually use your pc name or hdd serial or something as the random seed generator so it is kinda like double blind.

If I was to tell you how to get at that code that does the trickery on the disk and how to analyze it to create a valid code you could make a keygen with it... so obviously it is against the rules to go down that road.

Have you thought that what you have there might just be a very crafty and professionally produced piece of piracy? If you went in a shop and bought this then you should take it back... unless it was "sold as seen" in a faulty/damaged/missing bits bin.

Keep on with bungie.. have you thought about contacting them regarding this possibly being a commercial pirate product and see if they get back to you then?

You mean Blizzard, not Bungie :p
And I don't think the gamestore KNEW about it because the jewel case was still shrink-wrapped. Unfortunately, this one was down to Blizzard. I tried every damn thing I could think of. I tried phoning their UK service line: They are open for about an hour a day every 3 days or something stupid like that. I could always send the booklet in for them to change it, but it would take up to 3 - 6 weeks. Nope. I guess I'm gonna have to take it back to the store. But it's Blizzarding outside (budump bump TSH)
and I am in NO mood to walk in this snow.
Bloody bloody bloody! SUCH a waste of my LIFE!
But thanks for the advice, dude!

OK, well, here's an update: I finally relented today and went back to Game. They were a damn sight more helpful than I thought they would be, and replaced the game.
Guess I'm not used to helpful clerks ^ ^

Anyway, thanks for all...the help...guys..... guys?
