    for flightplan

1st, used [bold]DVDFabDecrypter- version 2.9.6.8[/bold] - ripped to hard drive (FREE)

2nd, then used [bold]DVDShrink[/bold] - shrunk it so it would fit on a regular sized DVD - but with shrink it will auto burn w/ Nero, so step #3 will now be done for you automatically. (FREE)

3rd, then used [bold]Nero[/bold] to burn - use the burn engine of your choice - Shrink will auto burn w/ Nero or if you use [bold]CloneDVD2[/bold] to burn the disk, you still need to shrink it first so it will fit on one disk.

    [bold]1,2,3,--- worked 100%, EVERYTHING[/bold]

It seems that there are several people trying to backup Flight Plan, The Fog, and The Cave but are having problems with AnyDVD and CloneDVD2.

The problem is that those of you using AnyDVD and CloneDVD2 that are getting errors need to update your software. I understand that most people who backup DVDs do not like to pay for software but if you want a reliable software that is worth every penny then just pay the money and order the newest versions of AnyDVD and CloneDVD2.

Once you have these on your machine you should have no problem backing up most any movie.

You can use all that crap, or you can just use DVD fab and DVD shrink, and it should work normal. Hey, worked for me.

But DVD decypter has trouble decrypting this.

    Good luck

Not a newb, so eliminate that from your mind as the cause of problems.

Attempt 1: Straight rip with DVD Shrink... "Out of Memory" at 45%.

Attempt 2: DVD Shrink with AnyDVD (newest)... "Out of Memory" at 45%.

Attempt 3: DVD Decrypter with AnyDVD, then opened with DVD Shrink... "Invalid data in VTS_03_1.VOB. Overlapped I/O operation is in progress."

Attempt 4: DVDFab Gold with DVD Region+CSS (all newest)... seemed to rip fine, but there doesn't seem to be a way to keep DVDFab from breaking it into 2 DVD's. Unacceptable.

Attempt 5: DVD Decrypter with DVD Region+CSS, then opened with DVD Shrink... "Invalid data in VTS_03_1.VOB. Overlapped I/O operation is in progress."

    Still working on it though.

Attempt 6: DVDFab Gold with DVD Region+CSS... you can use the "wizard" to rip a DVD-9 straight to a folder without "splitting it" across 2 DVD's. Not sure why you can't do that without the "wizard".

    In progress now...

In progress now... and it seems to have been successful. After dropping it in "complete" form, I ran it through DVD Shrink to recompress it to DVD-5. I'll burn and verify tonight.
